The wood book is an ongoing project funded by the Canadian Wood Council. As wood has re-entered the lexicon of the architectural profession as a sustainable, beautiful building material, there existed no textbook for the future of the profession to look to or be taught from. My role included researcher, illustrator, and author for the first chapter, which details the trees and lumber used in various aspects of the construction industry. The following chapters I assisted in researching and illustrating how indigenous and settler building typologies in Canada are built.
